Weekend purchases & babysitting!

This weekend was going to be a busy one from the offset- had a lovely dinner with my extended family and the man friend on Friday night, and then today we took my little cousins to the movies & out for shopping, which, despite the fact that it was a Saturday & the shops were teaming with people, we managed to not lose anybody & have an awesome time. We took the kids to see 'Despicable Me 2' which is totally an adult's movie as well, & then had lunch (a very healthy McDonald's Happy Meal) & did some shopping. The darling youngest, Ella, got some adorable Sylvanian Families toys; if you don't know what those are, have a look here, and I managed to get a new pair of boots, some succulent plants & a new ring, which was surprisingly inexpensive.

Women's Black Boots- $25 from Kmart

Okay so since it's winter and all, boots are the word for footwear at the moment. I've always been one for long boots, ones that come up the leg & reside around the knees, and it's only just this year I have come to know and appreciate the ankle boot design. I've seen these cut out style boots a lot lately; on people, on tumblr, in magazines and look books, & I love the look of them, how you can style them with pretty much anything- jeans, tailored trousers, dresses, long skirts, anything!

I've seen many brand ones & I really didn't want to pay that much for shoes, so I came across these in Kmart today, & I fell in love with the lines and fit of them on me.  My biggest concern for shoes in general is how badly they're going to tear up my feet in terms of blisters- I have skin like tissue paper on my feet & am no stranger to blisters and immense pain. I'm a huge fan of anything that can be worn with socks, but these boots passed the initial tests, but the real test will be during the week when I do nine hour shifts at work.

Desert flower succulents in wire tray- $19 from Target

I saw these a few weeks ago in passing, & succulents and plants seem to be all the decorating rage at the moment on Tumblr. I have three little ones sitting on my bed side table & these ones will finish off my collection for now. I'm hoping to eventually decorate with some real succulents at Mark's place but of course the issue is space. But for those of you who want something cute and natural to brighten up your space, these are fantastic.

Open Arrow Band Ring- $19.95 from Tree of Life

I'll be the first to admit that I am obsessed with jewellery- that should be relatively evident from my two retail jobs in jewellery stores & the sheer amount of jewellery I do own. I had seen this very sweet Arrow Ring on the Tree of Life website, however I was hesitant to buy jewellery like this online simply because I just want to see it in real life before I buy it. By chance I went into a Tree of Life store, and I hadn't yet seen this ring in any stores, & it was there today which made me extremely happy. Since it's an open ring, you can tighten and loosen it to fit you perfectly.

And one last photo from the day-

Ella Bella & Markle Bean.

Stay tuned. x
