1. Do you feel different with make up on or off?
Oh yeah, in a big way. I know you're meant to try and feel confident and comfortable in your own skin and natural-ness, and you shouldn't place so much of your self esteem on your physical appearance, but at the end of the day there is always a degree of self esteem that is reliant on how you look. I love having make up on, to me it's like making myself look the way I feel I should look- having those extra curly lashes or fierce eyebrows can be the difference between a good and a bad day.
It makes me kinda sad that some of my happiness depends on my physical appearance, but it's the result of my conditioning, which is a real damn shame- living in a time where you're judged on your worth and merit as a person based on your physical appearance infuriates me.
2. To you is inner beauty or outer beauty more important?
Inner beauty, to me, will always outshine outer beauty. Nothing is permanent- you age, you might get some wrinkles, your hair goes grey- something as superficial as outer beauty will fade, but a good heart and a kind spirit is an eternal thing.
3. Do you prefer inner or outer beauty?
Previous answer being said, I prefer inner beauty, but I am a slave to outer beauty. I place a great amount on how I look, I'm a vain person at times, and I do want to change my outside so I feel like it matches the inside, but then again at the same time, I want to stick my fingers up and just go 'hell with it, I'll look like whatever the hell I want to look like & eff everyone else.' It's hard to not be torn between the two, especially since you're judged majority of the time on your looks, and people won't give you the time of day if you're not 'pretty,' which means you miss out on knowing people (mind you, of their own fault and ignorant conceptions of beauty) but it can become a bit isolating for you.
4. What’s real beauty to you?
Real beauty is something you see everyday but don't realise until some time after- real beauty is a mum giving her kids a kiss when they come home from school, real beauty is someone telling their partner that they cooked them dinner because they know the other's probably feeling really shitty about something and they just want them to feel better, real beauty is someone talking to their friend about something they find hard to talk about, real beauty is coming home from a really long day and reminding yourself that you're a good person and you're going to be okay. That's real beauty.
5. What makes you feel beautiful?
It took me a long time to feel this way, but I make me feel beautiful. You've all you've got in the end, and you may as well start loving yourself- yeah I've got a very loving partner and family, but your happiness has to start with you. ♡
YOU are beautiful!
