It's December, which means Christmas will be here in a matter of weeks! We love Christmas in my family- my mother's side is part Canadian, so we always hear stories of falling snow, crackling fires and a really fulfilling Christmas spirit.
My grandfather is the biggest Christmas nut in the family, and is always the first to get the decorations out, even in his old age. My mum is a huge Christmas nut as well, and this year has taken to a more D.I.Y decoration approach, which I love because it makes it all more homemade and heart felt.
Today I went shopping with her, for the first time in ages, as the last few weeks we haven't seen each other as much, so it was wonderful to be able to spend some quality time with her. I wanted a few decorations for my room, just to dress it up a bit, and we did really well with our mini Christmas haul & decorations.

Morgan and Finch Traditional Ceramic Wire Wreath- Bed, Bath and Table
I saw this a couple of weeks ago when Christmas decorations had just started to come into stores and displays and whatnot, and Mum picked it up and we both just ooh'd and ahh'd over it. I remember thinking to myself that if I saw it again I would buy it because it's just precious and really homemade looking.
Low and behold we returned to the same Bed, Bath and Table and all of the Christmas decorations were 30% off & I was cheering! I love the white on white of my door, and how simple it is. It's got Mark's tick of approval!
Morgan and Finch Wooden Heart decoration- Bed, Bath and Table
This was one of the first things to be put up for Christmas in my room, and this was given to me as a gift a couple of years ago, but I know it was from Bed, Bath and Table. I love the patterns and how it looks like someone spent some time making it, even if that's not quite true in reality!
Morgan and Finch Traditional Ceramic Tealight Holder- Bed, Bath and Table
First off, sorry that the photo is a little blurry. I'm using a different camera and it's incredibly sensitive to hand shakes, and the fact that it was dark in my room probably didn't help either. BUT I am super in love with this little tea light holder. It's got a really cute Christmas scene with little holes in the sides to let more light come through, and I love the effect it has.
Pandora Ceramic Boot- Pandora
This was a gift last year from my brother, and it's the first time I've had it up since being given it. It's a really beautifully designed decoration, and goes nicely with the colour palette in my room.
And that's the mini Christmas/decorations haul done; here are some beauty products I picked up today:
Milk & Co. Ultra Light Moisturiser- Big W
My best gal pal, Clarissa, did this amazing review of Milk & Co. products on her blog recently, and she's raved about the brand since, so I'm excited to try it out on myself.
I tested it on my hand at the shops and it smells amazing. I'm keen to slather it on my face.
St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub with Salicyclic Acid- Big W
I am a huge fan of St. Ives and have been hunting for my favourite scrub for months. They used to sell it at Woolworths but I hadn't seen it for a while, and it was hard to ration this heavenly paste. I found it again today at Big W and refrained from buying a few more bottles. If you have blemish prone and oily skin, Salicyclic Acid is great for removing excess oil and leaving your skin noticeably clean. If you have sensitive or problem skin, definitely consult a skin care professional before trying any products, so you reduce your chances of reactions, but I have found with my complication skin that Salicyclic Acid works wonders for oily skin.
That's it for this post- if you guys have gotten any amazing beauty products recently or just getting into the festive mood, leave a comment below.
Stay festive!
