Inspired by the upcoming Easter holidays, I teamed up with Officeworks and made my own holiday scrapbook about my most recent trip to New Zealand, which I had a great time making.
All products you see except for my own holiday photos were supplied by and can be found at your local Officeworks store.
Here's how to make your own holiday scrapbook:
1. You're going to need the following for your scrapbook:
- one A4 size postage cardboard box
- sticky tape
- holiday snaps printed in a variety of sizes (tip: I found that a variety of sizes can help cover the box more thoroughly and make a collage type look)
- any trinkets from your holiday e.g. travel journal, tickets, etc.
- a Sharpie or heavy texter pen
I grabbed the following extra things to decorate my scrapbook further but this is entirely optional:
- travel sticky notes
- paper envelopes with string tie
- miniature bunting string (3 metres in length)
2. The next step is to write your holiday destination on the front of your scrapbook box- you'll eventually be folding it to fit on a shelf, so writing on the very front and not on top would make it easier to read. I plan on stringing some of the bunting line across the front, so I lay it flat where I wanted it and then hand wrote my holiday so I knew where the bunting would eventually be placed. You can use a stencil lettering if you wish, however I wanted mine to have a more hand made feel.
The A4 box size is a good size that will fit inside a small shelf space without taking up too much room.
3. Construct the base of your box by using sticky tape and taping the folds together.
4. Grab your photos and map out their placement before sticking them inside. As you can see, I started at the base and worked my way up and around the sides.
Here are all my photos in place inside the box!
5. Now your box is decorated, you can start to place your objects together- I have my travel journal from my holiday and a paper envelope.
I fell in love with the paper envelope with the vintage string tie, and thought it would be a sweet thing to write a list of moments from my trip that I want to remember forever. You of course don't have to do this, but I thought this was a lovely addition to my scrapbook.
This journal was so great to have with me on my trip- I was very grateful to my past self for writing down everything that we did, and I began to remember funny moments I had forgotten.
Grab your trinkets, and any other memorabilia, such as plane tickets-
I hope this has inspired some wanderlust, and that you enjoy looking back on your travels. A big thank you to Officeworks for their collaboration!
