mon parfum

Dolce and Gabbana Anthology L'Imperatrice, Chanel Coco Noir, and Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb.

There is something really personal and intimate about a person's perfume or cologne- they say that a scent is the strongest evoker of memories, compared to all other senses. Something so powerful and evocative deserves to be done right for you and your style, so I've put together three of my personal favourite fragrances.

My first ever experience with perfume was when I was a little girl, and I would spend time with my grandparents at their house. I would go with my grandmother into her room, and sit with her at her dresser and look through her lipsticks and jewellery. She would brush my hair and I would wear her special necklaces, and I would feel like a princess. Her dresser has this very distinct smell, and it's of her Chanel No 5 perfume, and for me, it is just elegance personified. My grandmother is an elegant lady, and anything Chanel just carries class and beauty. Coco Noir is very elegant but a little bit more mysterious and alluring. I wear this for very special occasions, and I always feel stunning whenever I wear it.

My two other every day favourites are Dolce and Gabbana Anthology's L'Imperatrice and Viktor and Rolf's Flowerbomb. I was given L'Imperatrice as a gift for my 21st birthday, and of course my grandmother chose it for me; she described it as 'the emergence of a young woman into the world,' and I feel that it's very much like that. It's a subtle scent without becoming overpowering, and is long lasting. It reminds me of flowers and a citrus undertone, and I love wearing it for everyday.

Viktor and Rolf's Flowerbomb is the newest perfume I have in on my shelf, and I find that it's stronger than my other two perfumes, but just as nice. This perfume makes you feel like a beautiful, bright flower. As you can see, I am very much into the more floral and citrus based fragrances, and yet all three are very different. I only tend to spray this scent once, and it lingers for a long time.

I love all of my perfumes, and if you want to see more reviews, my girl Clarissa is the queen of perfumes, and has an amazing collection. You can see a snippet of her collection in this blog post from last year.
