Make Up Haul and reviews!

Hey everyone- it's been a while! I decided to do a new make up haul and managed to get new foundation to try called Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in True Nude (1), a new foundation brush by Ecotools, (2) and three Maybelline Baby Lips lip balms in Neon Pink, Cherry Kiss and Berry Kiss (3). My girl Clarissa was the inspiration behind trying these new products, all purchases from Priceline- go check out her blog!

I am trying these awesome products today for work, and I'll post up an edited version of this post with my reviews. I might be able to post my work OOTD & make up as well. Enjoy & have a lovely Friday! x

Review time!

1. Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in True Nude

When I put a swatch of this foundation on my hand I was a bit worried about the thickness of the liquid itself & it was more of a creme base than a liquid & since I have oily skin, I don't need to add any extra liquid to my face, but when I applied it I was surprised at how light it felt. I didn't feel like I was painting my face with it- it was light, easy to blend & matched very well with my BB cream.

2. EcoTools Foundation Brush

Initially when I started being serious about make up I bought a stippling brush by MAC and used this to apply my foundation, but as time went on I found that my foundation whilst being applied by this brush wasn't blending as easily & left streak marks on my skin. I began to wash my brushes more regularly & just through every day usage bristles began to fall out quicker, so it was definitely time for a new brush. I saw EcoTools before I bought the MAC brush & had heard good things about them from friends, & decided to try it out. I'm still getting used to a stiff brush instead of a flexible stippling brush but I'm happy with the way the brush transfers & blends the foundation to my skin. I find problem areas such as my forehead & cheeks where there are scarring, dark spots and pigmentation aren't as obvious with the new foundation & brush. I was amazed at the difference a new brush can make.

3. Maybelline Baby Lips Colors

Okay so I love lip balms- I am a huge lip balm girl, always have been, I own maybe one lipstick- & because of my constantly dry & flaky lips I always find a good, moisturising lip balm is the best thing for me. I use some lip exfoliant from LUSH but if I use it too often my lips just become red raw. On a regular basis I have used Lucas's Pawpaw Ointment which, if you have constantly try and cracked lips, is a MUST for a visible difference. I wanted to try Maybelline's Baby Lips Colors because I had seen their beautiful red & pink tones, and out of the three pictured above my favourite is Berry Crush (the one on the right). They all smell great & aren't heavy on your lips so it doesn't feel like you've got paste on your mouth. It has a slight shine to it, so it can be for any occasion.
