| The week that was | 29.01.2014 |

This week was another seemingly quiet one, spent mostly at home and hunting for work. I got to spend a little bit more time in Manly, just because spending time with the man friend is awesome, and being near the beach and fresh air does more for me than anything else.

My friend returned from a month overseas, and it's so great to be able to talk to her without it being 12am at night. I can't wait to see her in a couple of days, when she's not dragged down by jet lag of course, and it made me think about how much I missed her whilst she was away. She doesn't live close to me as such, but not speaking to her as often was definitely something I missed in a big way. It made me think about how university was such a huge part of my social life, and how I miss seeing and talking with people I have come to know as part of my everyday routine. And I will most definitely look forward to having a routine again.

Here's the past week & the week so far:

For those of you who don't know, the 26th of January is Australia Day, and most people get together and have a BBQ or a beer with mates. This year my family and I had a massive lunch together, decked with a sausage sizzle, lamingtons and pavlova, as pictured above. My aunt makes a mean pav.

Native Australian flowers my grandmother brought my mother.

Some cute chalk work by local kids at the local park.

Manly beach. Not bad for a backyard view!

Train selfie on the way to see Jimmy Carr at the Sydney Opera House! Such a great night with the man friend.

Cute succulents on my afternoon walks today.

My next post will be all about fashion inspirations, and a sort of look book style post which I'm very excited about putting together.

Stay tuned~
