| The week that was | 29.01.2014 |

This week was another seemingly quiet one, spent mostly at home and hunting for work. I got to spend a little bit more time in Manly, just because spending time with the man friend is awesome, and being near the beach and fresh air does more for me than anything else.

My friend returned from a month overseas, and it's so great to be able to talk to her without it being 12am at night. I can't wait to see her in a couple of days, when she's not dragged down by jet lag of course, and it made me think about how much I missed her whilst she was away. She doesn't live close to me as such, but not speaking to her as often was definitely something I missed in a big way. It made me think about how university was such a huge part of my social life, and how I miss seeing and talking with people I have come to know as part of my everyday routine. And I will most definitely look forward to having a routine again.

Here's the past week & the week so far:

For those of you who don't know, the 26th of January is Australia Day, and most people get together and have a BBQ or a beer with mates. This year my family and I had a massive lunch together, decked with a sausage sizzle, lamingtons and pavlova, as pictured above. My aunt makes a mean pav.

Native Australian flowers my grandmother brought my mother.

Some cute chalk work by local kids at the local park.

Manly beach. Not bad for a backyard view!

Train selfie on the way to see Jimmy Carr at the Sydney Opera House! Such a great night with the man friend.

Cute succulents on my afternoon walks today.

My next post will be all about fashion inspirations, and a sort of look book style post which I'm very excited about putting together.

Stay tuned~

| Christmas challenge & the week that was | 13.12.2013 |

Christmas time is upon us, and it's turning out to be a really exciting and festive time this year. Usually I'd be thinking just about working full time and not being able to relax, but this year it's been something I've really enjoyed since my university career has come to a close after four years of study. I've been able to settle into a solid routine and gotten used to seeing people on a regular basis.

I miss my university friends a bunch, but I'm seeing them in the coming days before Christmas, which gives me something to look forward to. One of my closest friends is going overseas for a while, and getting to spend time with her is something I'm super excited about.

I've also been taking part in a Christmas challenge on Instagram, which has put me in more of a festive spirit. Here are some happy snaps from the week!

A favourite card sitting in my room.

Homemade wreath made by my mum hanging in the foyer.

Christmas shopping is thirsty work!

Wrapping pretty gifts with pretty wrapping paper.

One of the best things about where I work is Mad Mex all day,  'erry day.

That's it for this week's happy snaps.

Stay tuned.

| Life updates, the weeks that were, and hauls! |

W o w WOW what a couple of weeks it's been! I'm so sorry for not updating nearly as much as I used to- but I have finally finished my four years of university study and will be getting my rather expensive piece of paper next year in April!

For the moment I'm working at my retail job as much as I can coming up to Christmas. Retail and Christmas is the stuff of nightmares for those who work in sales- impatient and huffy customers are part of the job, but at least it's something to keep me busy and earning some money, to you know, live and buy stuff.

Aaaand speaking of buying stuff, I have a few bits and pieces to share in recent hauls, including things for the apartment for next year, and some clothes. I'll put some of the haul pieces in a post for tomorrow, and add more to it once I've taken some photos of the bits and pieces I bought.

Good news- this coming Wednesday is the Graduation Show! I'll be picking up 'yellow' magazine from the binders on Tuesday & keeping it in my hot hands until Wednesday night, there will be plenty of photos to post next week.

For the moment, here's the last couple of weeks in photos~

Walking through the shops on my way to work & saw some of nature's art.

Hello my name is Carla and I have a shameless addiction to magazines.

Nearly 3 months worth of work and it's on the big screens at university.

Amazing student work in the Rabbithole.

Someone forgot to mention to the weather that it rains here in winter, it's November/getting ready for summer.

Started doing the Christmas shopping over the weekend and came across these beautiful fairy light balls in the trees in Warringah Mall.

More flowers.

It thrills me to see the variety of Christmas decorations at the moment. I remember it being nothing but red and green and tinsel, and now it's beautiful whites and teals.

Graduating year in the Rabbithole.

Me before going off to the Rabbithole for the last time.

Having some chai on a lunch break from work.

Appreciating the views from the ferry on the way home last night.

A decent sized post tonight, to make up for the silence of the last week.

Stay tuned.

| The week that was | 10.09.2013 |

Sorry to say that the past week was highly uneventful- I didn't even get to spend any time with Mark, which really irks me, because I had so much uni stuff to get through, so please excuse a shorter blog post today, but I really REALLY enjoyed doing my mid week haul, & another will be coming during this week about other purchases. ^_^

Here's the weekly wrap up!

I have a serious addiction to watches. I have a whole bunch of them on one of my shelves & my mum and I come into my room each morning & pick one out to wear for the day, it's a bit glam & I love it. I love this because it's got such a nice rose gold colour, & the band is really comfortable to wear. I'm starting to wear a lot more rose gold accessories & this ties it in nicely.

Sitting in a morning lecture, being distracted by my spring patterned pants.

I have no self control when it comes to plants in my room- I love how nice the green looks against the white walls of my room, & the little potted plants make me feel soothed.

Yeah, sorry it's a short one. Mid week purchases coming soon!

Stay tuned! x

| The week that was | 2.09.2013 |

Sorry did I read that right? It's September ALREADY?? I will be finished with university for the year in less than two months hOW-
Anyways, I'm terribly sorry that this weekly wrap up is a day late- I promise it's not going to become a habit, I had two major assignments to hand in today and over the weekend, & it all just got rather busy.
Any who, here is the weekly wrap up!

Spring has officially sprung! There are heaps of flowering jasmine trees in my neighbourhood, and it always smells amazing.

You may recognise a snippet of this pic from earlier posts- this was a behind the scenes shot from a photoshoot I helped out Emily-May with. She has these adorable little potted plants & a veggie patch at her place. It's such a homely place, with cats!

Me running errands over the weekend with Mark- I'm so grateful for his company, and having a bag that happens to fit everything I need!

I caught up with a darling friend of mine, Lucy, over the weekend amidst all the chaos. I've known her for about two years now, & she is just this amazing person. She's the kind of friend who you can talk to all the time, & when you do eventually catch up, it's as if no time has passed at all. She's studying to be a graphic designer, and works at a fashion label already which is totally awesome and fabulous. She's been such a rock to me over the last two years, & I love her so dearly.

I think I sometimes forget how beautiful Sydney is. This is the Queen Victoria Building, and a place I go to a lot as I get my bus home from Manly around here. The city is always bustling with people and cars and traffic, but for some reason when I see this picture, I remember feeling peaceful when I took it. Mark was nearby, he's the peace in the chaos.

In the midst of this week I also managed to take some photos for yellow magazine- the accompanying article is a commentary on the changing trends of fashion, & how accessories have maintained a level of demand despite such trends. Below are some snaps from the shoot- shoes and necklaces are featured:

I hope this longer post has made up for my lateness! I have a whole bunch of hauls to go up this week- this week isn't nearly as hectic, so I'll have some more time to blog!

Stay tuned! x
